Hello! Cello?

Okay, Taylor is learning to play the cello. We just had the 2nd lesson today at the studio. Something wrong with this picture? Ahhh, yes, that is Taylor lounging on the couch watching TV. You see, I have my own cello, NO idea how to play it, but it looks like I do, right? RIIIIGHHHHT. Well, for the first 10 weeks of class the first half hour is dedicated to the kids (there are two of them including her) and the next half hour I get to learn. Not because I wanted to because trust me, I'm too old to learn new tricks! But it's the Suzuki method and meant to involve the parents for at home practicing. So now what I thought was going to be a simple learning an instrument process has turned into a WHOLE different ball game, little did I know what I was getting into!! She absolutely loves it though...oh, the things we do for our kids!! We'll see how things go, she'll get her own cello in 3 weeks and I'll trade mine in. It is interesting though learning something new---just don't expect any YoYo-Ma anytime soon. At this point we'll BOTH be thrilled with any version of "twinkle, twinkle"!
In other news...the dog is potty trained!

Now if only I could get this one to do it (doused himself with lotion yesterday) Bryan was babysitting, but don't worry...he's fine...oh and WELL moisturized!

k I love that you are learning to play the cello! That is awesome. So I took suzuki piano and I still can't play but I remember having to listen to those never ending tapes (literally - they would keep repeating) over and over all night long. I'm way impressed that your dog is already potty training! Especially in the winter - that is a tough feat!

This is the mose hilarious post I have seen in a while! Now if you could just train your husband :) Just kidding Bryan! I hope you can still come in a few weeks for pictures. See if you can't drag Marti with you. Hope you all are keeping dry and warm. Buffalo looses power more than their so thankfully we have a generator. I can't wait to hear you play. When is the mother daughter concert?
