Last minute Christmas treasures...

If you live in/near Rochester you gotta take your kiddies here before Christmas. The pictures don't do justice, it's really amazing and it just goes on and on. A family starts in August setting up the hugest display of 50,000 lights, blow up thingys & nutcracker collections all over their house as well as the empty lot next door. Our kids had stars in their eyes. They loved it! They are located on Atlantic Ave between Culver & Winton Rd. Super easy to find and well worth it! Taking it in with one of these in hand is perfect!

If you can't, this youtube video is the next best thing...

Yummy Chocolate Cookie recipes from one of my favorite cookbooks (and a suggestion from Brooke!)

ROLO Cookies
2 1/2 cups flour
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
1 t. baking soda
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup butter
2 eggs
2 t. vanilla
48 ROLOS
2 T. sugar

Combine flour, coca & soda and set aside. Beat sugars and butter until well blended; add eggs & vanilla. Add dry mixture & blend well. Shape cookies into small balls. Press Rolo into center of ball and cover with dough. Roll cookie in sugar. Bake on ungreased cookie sheets at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes, until tops of cookies are slightly cracked. Cool on racks.

I found a cheater version:
{Looks just as good if you ask me!}

Why not one more?
I have not tried this one, I've made similar.
They had me at 2 minutes...and microwave.

Making the toffee. Going to make the Rolo cookies. Not coming to Rochester to see those awesome lights. :( The Joseph Smith Memorial will have to do.

Keep those holiday recipes coming. (Love them all!) I'd like a 0 calorie 0 fat 0 carb sensationally delicious fudge or caramel recipe, please. Thanks!

those lights are insane! We didn't even do any on our house this year... so bad. I just think about having to take all that down and I quickly give up!
