Where have I been you ask? (well, at least thanks for asking Rachel W!) Playing single mom (of course) and wanting to pull my hair out and I won't lie the thought of digging myself a shallow frozen grave in our tundra of a yard did cross my mind (more than once), I've been home for days and days waiting by the potty. Washing endless arrays of Thomas + Lightning McQueen underwear, setting timers, using all kinds of excited voices to entice with many bribes + treats, mixing perfect glasses of chocolate milk & popping straws into juice boxes...that's where I've been. At my weakest points over the weekend came pictures from Bryan letting me know that he is enjoying his run along the sunny beach in Naples, Florida. He's got quite the life right now doesn't he?
(Shot with his iphone...looks like my Canon, not too shabby)
Right when I thought for sure my future would include changing a 7-year-old and to just give up on the whole idea (again) -- success! Really, it was my proudest moment as a mother this morning as Brody actually came upstairs (from playing the Wii mind you) and went all by himself, no prompting, nothing!! I thought I was going to jump through the roof. Ahhh, the joy I feel right now and to know maybe he will be able to get into college one day, my faith in the smarts of this little guy have been restored.

glad you survived! And congrats! It will be nice to not have to change 2 bums in a few months!

I am seriously not going to worry about PTing for another year. I think it sounds like my biggest nightmare.

I'm totally avoiding it...I don't know if I'm ready for the full days sitting at home, filling him full of liquids, waiting for him to go. Jayden will probably be 7 before he's potty trained...and it will totally be MY fault. It is on our Goals for this year though...so I've got to start one day.

Ah the sweetness of success! It is WAY harder on mom than the trainee.

That is so great! I have been dealing too much with Bella's Big Girl Bed that I have not been willing to start potty training. I am so happy for you though!

I'm laughing right now, because I so understand! As we speak, Tyler is standing and looking at me with his pants and underwear down to his ankles...now if I can just get him to stay dressed after he goes...ugh. The whole situation sounds like a recipe for a nervous breakdown, especially with hubby in Florida and you stuck in the thick of a Rochester winter. I would've lost it! Glad you finally are seeing some light at the end of the tunnel.
